Friday Favourites..

Today on this delightful Friday I couldn't resist sharing these beautiful images by the amazingly talented Leslie from Color Me Pretty which are featured on decor8. The gorgeous shades are so inspiring and what beautiful ideas to get my bits and pieces that little more organised..

My Creative Space..

To my dearest studio cleaning fairy,

Please help me! Amongst the craziness of the past few weeks, my studio has indeed seen better days and it could really use a little love and organisation. See below for photographic evidence of my current predicament.

My lovely button box has now become storage for everything that doesn't have a home.

The contents of one of my library catalogue drawers.. thread.. check, needles.. check, random glove??

And as you can see, my once beautifully folded basket of fabric, was attacked in a fit of wild creativity!

The fabric has even made its way into my favourite stash of books and magazines!

And last but not least, I'm not even sure how my granny squares ended up in a jar!

As you can see cleaning fairy, I need your really need your assistance, so please hurry, or else you may find me one afternoon hidden in a giant mountain of fabric and buttons (that actually sounds kind of fun!)

For many more gorgeous and far more organised creative spaces pop over and have a cup of tea with the lovely Kirsty.

Delightful Dwellings..

From the moment I saw this little shed.. I fell in love and now I secretly wish to plan one of my very own (shhh don't tell my hubby). I would just love to set up house, well studio at least in a little shed just like this.

All images of this beautiful little shed via tales of a jUnkaholic

If you need me, I'll be in the backyard with the measuring tape. Oh, my heart skips a beat just thinking about it.

Wishing you a delightful Tuesday indeed!

Flea Market Finds..

What a beautiful and very special Sunday it is for enjoying some lovely Flea Market Finds. First off a huge thank you to everyone who played along last week, it was by far the biggest Sunday so far and it was just delightful to stop by and check out everyone's lovely finds. Some of my favourites (there were so many) included, some gorgeous crockery here, here and here, some very sweet dresses here and here, and finally this adorable shopping trolley. Fabulous work girls!

So on my flea market hunt yesterday, after the local Salvo's wouldn't let me in because they were closing in five minutes, I trudged in the rain down to the tip shop and thought my luck had run out until I found a sweet brass teapot and a fabulous old wheelbarrow which I got thrown in for free as it had certainly seen better days. But I didn't mind, you see I had bigger plans for my little wheelbarrow..

It quickly found a new home under our maple tree and was transformed into the perfect little garden bed for some gorgeous pansies and herbs..

What delightful tales do you have to share this week? To play along just leave a comment and put your flea market blog post link (not just your blog link) in the Linky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! And don't forget to upload your fabulous finds to the Flea Market Finds flickr page too.

Wishing you all a lovely ANZAC day and a beautiful opportunity to thank those courageous men and women for their sacrifices.
Lest We Forget.

My Creative Space..

What a week! With musical rehearsals in full swing, meetings and parent teacher interviews, I haven't had any free time at all in my little studio to create this week. However I have found a fabulous way to stay creative during the week, with my camera in hand, I capture the world around me.

My Alter Ego ~ Unravelling week six

I love the afternoons when I can grab my camera and wander home from work, noticing the beautiful autumn leaves, dragonflies, delightful sunsets and tiny moments in between.

From photographing a local band at a skate park on Sunday to snapping away at rehearsals this afternoon, this week my world is filled with captured moments, the lovely tiny ones that no one notices.

For many more fabulous creative spaces, pop over and see our lovely and always creative hostess Kirsty.

Wishing you a delightful and creative Thursday!

Delightful Dwellings.. Living in a bookshop

This morning, whilst daydreaming over my cup of tea I couldn't help thinking about how I would love to jump a plane to Paris and settle in for a few months at Shakespeare & Co.

I think there would be something quite amazing about living amongst all of those beautiful books and words. And you would never be short of something to read before bed. For me information about living and working at Shakespeare & Co, check out their website.

Where is the strangest place you would like to live?

Flea Market Finds..

Hooray for Sunday mornings, it can only mean one thing, fabulous finds! I hope you have had a wonderful week of finds. Sorry I wasn't able to get around to everyone last week, first week back at work, musical rehearsals and marking eighty essays meant I sadly didn't have a great deal of browsing time. So I will get a double dose of flea market goodness this week! In lieu of some favourites this week just pop over and check out everyone's if you haven't already. These girls really know how to shop!

So this week, as I didn't get a chance to go out seaching, minus a few tea cups from the local MS shop, I thought I'd show you my vintage dress I found whilst in Brisbane. I wondered after I bought it, what on earth I would wear it with, but after buying a new pair of bright orange Converse sneakers a few days ago, I think they are made for each other.

The dress.. original 1960's.

Besides the crazy colours, I was really drawn to it because of the fabulous original buttons.

So now to cross my fingers and hope it I can pull it off when I wear it to work tomorrow. I hope you have had some wonderful finds this week. To play along just leave a comment and put your flea market blog post link (not just your blog link) in the MckLinky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! Have you got any favourite vintage dresses? I'd love to see them!

Much Love and Happy finding!

My Creative Space..

My studio is a little crazy this week with erratic creative behaviour and all hours of the day and night. I'm getting ready for a big weekend, with a new stock and a sale in my little shop as well as some exiting new bits and pieces, so this week my creative space has become a circus of thoughts, ideas and buttons!

My desk.. new inspiration board, magazines, fabric and my lovely new tote bag from Aunty Cookie

Oh craft and buttons!

My little house pin cushion I made for this fabulous swap, which will be popped in the mail this afternoon off to its new home.

A little line up of brooches nearly ready for this weekend's shop update.

My moleskine, the latest Inside Out magazine and some lovely leaves from my maple tree... My process of capturing inspiration.

For many more fabulous creative spaces, pop over and see our lovely and always creative hostess Kirsty.

I hope your week has been full of fabulous creative moments.
My random tip for the day, listen to your very favourite song and sing along loudly whilst laughing at all your off notes!

Delightful Dwellings.. Gypsy Caravans

I've decided that just for today I'd like to run away and join the circus in a beautifully adorned gypsy caravan.

I wondered for a moment what I might do in the circus but then I found this last image and realised that I could just potter around and read lovely books in my caravan all day. Sounds pretty perfect to me.

Have a dreamy Tuesday!

Flea Market Finds..

How quickly did the week fly by! It's that time again ladies, go pop the kettle on and get ready for this week's Flea Market Finds. I hope you all had a fabulous Easter and a big thank you for playing along on Easter Sunday as I know all of you had many other important engagements to attend and Easter eggs to enjoy.

Now onto the last week's finds! So many fun and quirky finds last week! Just look at these squirrel salt and pepper shakers and this fabulous tie wearing galah, also some lovely suitcases here and my favourite 'find' for this week, this gorgeous house. Do pop over to thrift. nest. sew and check it out.

This week one of my first stops when I got home was Around Again (the local tip shop). I am always so excited to see what is in the 'good room' and often I'm sure I run through the shop just to get there a little faster. This week's the find was actually located by my fabulous hubby who spotted it before I did and then helped me drag it to the car. He makes an excellent partner in crime.

This week's find.. a lovely old dressing table, which I'm using in the dining room as a side board. I just love the colour and shape of this piece and with the addition of some lovely old handles, it will be a nice finishing touch to the dining room.

I hope you have had some interesting and fabulous finds this week. To play along just leave a comment and put your flea market blog post link (not just your blog link) in the MckLinky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! I know the MckLinky was playing up last week, if you have any trouble just leave a comment and I will add you.

Much Love and Happy Sunday!

Shoe Crush...

I think I have a serious crush on this amazing pair of shoes from Modcloth, perfectly titled The Color Me Katie Flat, after the fabulous Katie herself.

The description reads, 'From the streets of Brooklyn to your hometown, you too can walk around spreading cheer wherever you go with these bright, joyful flats, as colorful as Katie herself!'

The perfect shoes for cutting, pasting, creating, dancing and photographing the world.

My Creative Space..

I woke up yesterday with the sudden urge to give our dining room a vintage inspired handmade makeover. With high ceilings and a wonderful amount of wall space I have been wondering for a while now how to bring this room to life. So this week my creative space has once again been the dining table as I set to work creating some new pieces for the walls. Here are the results..

The dining room.. I love this room because of the beautiful sunshine and almost everything in it is second hand or handmade.

Feature artwork ~ Maps of time.. Creating from a series of maps from a 1935 Encyclopedia and this op shop frame.

To compliment the maps I created two smaller pieces to hang on each side...

Music ~ Another op shop frame with old sheet music and some Miss Kwong butterflies

Air Mail ~ Created on a clipboard featuring some lovely bits and pieces given to me by Alice from forestbound and Liz from Lino Forest.

For many many more fabulous creative spaces, pop over to and visit our lovely hostess Kirsty.

And now that I've got a lovely new room to sit in, I'm off to brew a pot of tea, grab my journal and spend a little time writing in the afternoon sunshine.

Flea Market Finds..

A very special Easter Flea Market Finds day today! I hope everyone has a fabulous day with family and friends. Perhaps you have even had a chance to find a treasure or two. Sorry I haven't been able to get around to everyone's treasures from last week, my days here in Brisbane have been very full indeed. I look forward to stopping by to catch up on everyone's finds with week. A special thank you to all the new Finders playing along, it is so delightful to see everyone embracing second hand goodies.

So this week I stumbled upon my find on a little shopping trip in Paddington. I was headed up to the new bookshop Black Cat Books and on the way wandered past the Antique Centre. To my delight this treasure was waiting me on a display on the footpath.

I just couldn't resist this gorgeous old washboard and can't wait to find the perfect spot for it in my little cottage. Today even my washboard is getting into the Easter spirit!

So what have you found this week? To play along just leave a comment and put your flea market blog post link (not just your blog link) in the MckLinky below so we can all check out your goodies. Remember you can play any time during the week! Perhaps you might even like to get your finds into the Easter spirit too!

Much Love and happy hunting!

Edit: McLinky seems to be having a bad day, if it decides not to work for you, just leave me a comment and hopefully it will feel better tomorrow so I can add you to the list.
