Well it appears that my nesting mode is in full swing already, as I'm not only dreaming about creating a beautiful nursery but also making my kitchen look lovely and fresh too! And what better way then to add some pretty colour and scents with potted herbs, perfect for the kitchen bench.
Use beautiful terracotta pots for an organic feel..
Need a little more space.. How gorgeous is this herb house for a porch or balcony.
Add a quirky touch with vintage tea tins or label pots with brown paper and string.
Have a big corner of your kitchen bench free? Lucky you! Create a beautiful cluster of your favourite herbs in a thrifted casserole dish.
Or for an eclectic feel, mix it all together!
How does your herb garden grow? I'd love to hear your kitchen garden tips.
Much Love

Ah yes, love the nesting! We grow fresh herbs on the window sill, the little ones each have their own pots that they water each day. They love watching them grow and I love having lots of fresh herbs to cook with! x
ReplyDeleteThat herb house is to die for! I think I need one :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to get some herbs for our kitchen. I love the tea tin idea the best I think :)
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen sunshine situation isn't suited to growing herbs, but after a recent trip home to visit my mom, she gave me an armful of rose geranium cuttings. I planted them in various pots on my fire escape & they are thriving! I can't wait until a veritable geranium hedge forms & I can start using their leaves in jams & teas!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was a good gardener but everything I plant seems to die. I hope you don't have my luck :(
ReplyDeleteI'm actually making a mini herb garden in my kitchen this weekend :D I adore the vintage tins look! Totally going to try to hunt some down this week!
ReplyDeleteLove some of those ideas, might give growing herbs another go, don't seem to have much luck with them.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I grew up with a huge garden and it was so lovely to go and pick the herbs and vegetables as we needed them, but now I only have a teeny tiny outdoor space. I just love that cluster of herbs in a bowl, might have to give it a try :)
ReplyDeletethere's nothing better than cooking up a big batch of spag bol, going into the garden and getting some fresh parsley to finish it off.
ReplyDeletesimple perfection
I so wish I had ideal sunlight in my kitchen to grow an herb garden! Loved the outdoor herb house! :)

How is the drainage for the twinnings tea containers? I love the idea, but I was just wondering about this issue. Or maybe it requires a particular plant?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to grow our own herbs - we buy from the supermarket, but always end up throwing them out. If we grew our own we could just use what we needed. Makes so much more sense! Might have to be a project for the holidays...
