The Perfect Top Knot..

It seems in the last month my hair has grown so much! It's all those great pregnancy hormones I'm thinking. As much as I love having longer locks, all of a sudden I've had to change the way I do my hair.  I wear my hair in a top knot or messy bun almost everyday to work and each morning over the last few weeks it just hasn't been happening like it used to. It's always been my favourite hair style, although Ben has been known to make funny comments about my top knots.  He has taken to calling my new do, 'The Croissant', as I fan my bun out like a faux beehive but when it's a bit flat, it turns out like a French pastry instead.   So over the weekend I went searching for some instructions to tame my new mane...

Here are a few of my favourite top knots with great, easy to follow instructions, to get the ultimate up do.. a little messy, always classy and perfect for any occasion.

For the perfect messy french bun look no further than this how to from A Cup of Jo

I just love Kinsey's hair and this guide from A Beautiful Mess is great for longer locks.

This fun video tutorial from Free People was perfect timing to help me solve my top knot dilemma

Keiko's messy bun always looks amazing styled.  Check out her tutorial over here

And for a super easy top knot, it's hard to go past Caroline's chic do, again from A Cup of Jo

  3. It's the best, but I am still trying to get the hang of it. I guess I am ambivalent regarding the volumizing part of it :-)

  8. I went through a phase of doing them but it's hard to get the messiness right... mine always look a little too tidy!

  9. I've been doing this a lot lately to my own hair and really liking it. I have medium length hair so it's definitely a smaller bun, but it works!

  10. This is so helpful! Buns are my go to hairstyle, but I get tired of always using the same technique. Thank you!
