Inspired Organisation..

I try to keep my desk neat, I really do... But as an avid list maker, note keeper and collector of ephemera, I'm forever finding places to stash my ever accumulating bits and pieces.  This restaurant ticket holder may just be the perfect solution! Practical, space saving and that little bit quirky, I'm totally adding one of these to my new dream studio space wish list.

How do you keep your desk organised? I'd love to hear about your storage ideas!

Spring Dreaming..

Today as I stepped out of my front door and into another frosty winter morning, I couldn't help but dream of the coming season and the joy of Spring.  This gorgeous photograph I stumbled across last night pretty much sums up my feelings about Spring and my longing for bunches of wild flowers, bare legs, ballet flats and lazy afternoon wandering.

Are you dreaming about next season's delights yet?

Our Big Move..

This year has been a year for adventures, for doing and for making our dreams come true.  As we journey on this wonderful and exciting path to parenthood, we have realised that we are missing some very important people in our lives that we want to share our new adventure with. So, we've made the big decision to leave our little cottage in the country and move to Brisbane in November to be closer to our families.

We have loved our time in Mildura, it's been an amazing experience over the past five years, moving to a small town, knowing not a single soul, starting my first 'real' job and being just the two of us.  Along the way we have met so many amazing people, bought our first house, a new car and added two adorable pets to our little family.  Now as our family grows, it's time to head back to where we came from, this time just a little further north, to begin the next part of our adventure.  Our little cottage will still be here, if we decide the city life isn't quite for us down the track.. But for now, we are so excited to be making the journey home to our families and we are focusing on all the wonderful moments ahead.

Can't wait to see what you've discovered.  Pop over here to check out all of fabulous finds from last week.

This week went by so quickly, I only had a few moments on Friday afternoon to pop into a few of my favourite thrifty spots and I was pleasantly delighted by what was waiting for me.

After a little while of not finding any Pyrex, I've been so happy by my recent finds.  This week's casserole dish is in one of my very favourite patterns.

I love these old metal Willow canisters and with a little bit of love it will be perfect storage for the nursery.

Some fun floral love with this Bessemer platter..

And this fun orange kettle which will be perfect for our camping adventures..

I'd love to know what you found this week. To play along just leave a comment and add your flea market blog post link in the Linky below so we can all check out your goodies. What I Wore.. Pretty Ties and Rain Drops

Jacket: Portmans  Dress: Sportsgirl
Tights: Tightology from Fine and Sunny  Boots: Vintage from Vintage Sole
Tie: c/o Flapper Girl  Belt: H & M  Brooch(worn as hair clip): Vintage

I was so delighted when the lovely Christine from Flapper Girl contacted me and asked if I'd like to wear one of her gorgeous lady ties.  I've been admiring her lovely ties on some of my favourite style bloggers recently, so I couldn't wait to style it myself.  I wore this little outfit to the fabulous Finders Keepers markets a few weeks ago and it's become one of my favourite go to winter ensembles ever since.  I'm so delighted that the sweet mint tie I chose matched perfectly with my new favourite raindrop tights. They are the perfect pair of accessories to brighten up a rainy winter day.

In baby bump news, we are counting down the days until our 20 week scan on Monday when we get to find out if we get to welcome a little gentleman or lady into the world in December.  To say I'm excited is an understatement and I just can't wait to really start planning, nesting and preparing for our little one.   It's a wonderful time indeed!

I hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend!

Happy Weekend..

Happy Weekend! I hope yours has been wonderful so far.  It's certainly winter weather here today in my little town, so I'll be rugging up to do a spot of thrifting and to pop in to Fine and Sunny to catch up with the girls.  Also on my to do list, a little nesting behaviour and redecorating while I listen to some fabulous music and I think some crafty behaviour is in order too! What are your weekend plans? In need of a little inspiration.. why don't you?

Dine alfresco tonight.. Just add some good company and a string of lights for a lovely evening.

Get inspired by this amazing oven to create your own outdoor cooking area..

Get baking.. Why not try this lemon loaf with zucchini

Feeling uninspired by your living space, why not redecorate.  Move furniture around, add some new art prints, create a room feature, like this chandelier.  It's amazing how fresh a room can feel after just changing a few details.

Be sure to listen to your favourite music while your decorating..

Looking for some new to make.. I'm loving this recipe for home made mustard.

Make some time to get into your studio! Clear off the desk, dust off your favourite supplies and get creative.  Don't have a space.. we love working from the dining table too!

And remember this lovely inspiration from Van Gogh..

Have a wonderful weekend!

Crafty Moments..

It's been a wonderfully busy month, full of heaps of fun and creative moments, but it seems something I haven't had a chance to do in a little while is some good old fashioned crafting.  I especially love working on easy weekend projects, that only take an hour or two, but always make me feel excited and inspired.  So this weekend, I'm going to set aside a few hours and get a little crafty.  Here are a few projects and supplies that are inspiring my creative adventures.

I love washi tape.. and what a great way to give a thrifted piece of furniture a makeover.

Something that's been high on my crafty to do list is to crochet a colourful beret to brighten up my winter outfits and I think this beautiful yarn would be just perfect.

I'm also loving this embroidered cushion cover.. looks like a perfect relaxing weekday evening project to me.

I've been meaning to try making some painted jars for a little while now.  I'm so inspired by these gorgeous pastel tones.

And I couldn't resist another washi tape project.  How cute is this little washi tree.  Such a lovely and simple way to brighten up an office space.

I'd love to hear about your creative projects! What are you working on at the moment?

Much Love

Flea Market Finds comes to you a little late this evening because we've been spending the day with our wonderful friends enjoying Christmas in July.  It's amazing how festive you can feel in the middle of the year.. just add yummy food, silly Christmas cracker hats, jokes and glitter.  I can't wait to see all your thrifted finds from the week, I hope you've discovered some treasures.  Pop over here to check out all the lovely finds from last week.

If last week was all about pink, this week was all yellow and orange.  I always love finding bright, fun kitchenware and this week I hit the jackpot with a few cute pieces.

I've been searching for a sunflower Pyrex dish and lid for years and I was so excited to find this one, in perfect condition from my favourite little thrift shop.

And these retro bowls just make me smile! I'd love to know if there is more to the set.

To finish off the orange and white theme, I found these gorgeous retro tumblers in their original box.  The are such a fun way to brighten up the kitchen.

Happy Weekend..

Happy Weekend! I hope it's a beautiful one in your part of the world.  The sun is shining here and the winter chill seems to have disappeared from the air, so it's the perfect weekend to continue working on our backyard makeover.  We've done the hardware store rounds this morning (as well as a trip to Spotlight, for some DIY essentials) so this afternoon is all about making progress on our numerous projects.  I'm also excited to be celebrating Christmas in July with our fabulous friends tomorrow afternoon. The menu is set, the tree is up and this afternoon I'll be working on a few little projects to make the table sparkle too.  What fun, getting to celebrate Christmas twice this year! What are your plans for the weekend? If your looking for a little inspiration, why don't you?

Make a delightful dessert style berry pizza tonight..

Get inspired by this pretty Anthropologie dress and and some beautifully detailed pockets to a thrifted skirt or dress..

Enjoy the afternoon sunshine and venture into the garden to create a wonderful succulent feature..

Make your weekend drinks extra pretty with some floral ice cubes..

Start a new collection... I just love these vintage globes styled together..

And always remember..

What I Wore.. Splashes of Colour

Jacket: Kmart   Black Top: Target
Striped Top: Cable & Gauge Jeans: Mavi
Boots: Myer   Scarf: Sportsgirl
Belt: H&M  Brooch: Naomi Murrell
Satchel: Pigionhole from Fine & Sunny

Well it's certainly Winter and it seems all the bright clothes in my wardrobe are making way for comfortable black staples to see my through to Spring.   I don't wear jeans very often but was totally delighted to find these Mavi maternity jeans while in Brisbane and I have barely taken them off since I got them home.  Who knew a pair of jeans could be so comfortable! I've been adding splashes of colour to my Winter work wardrobe with bright accessories and I'm loving mixing up patterns as well.  My gorgeous new satchel was a birthday present from Ben and it's certainly adding a pop of colour to my daily outfits.  And as much as I love layering and wearing pretty scarves, I'm already dreaming about to wearing flowing dresses and colourful cardigans in Spring.

What's your favourite way to brighten up an outfit?
