We thought we had our weekend all planned out, but there were some last minute changes, so we found ourselves with no where special to be and plenty on our to do list. I always feel so lucky that Ben is always happy to go with the flow and indulge some of my crazy suggestions, as all our weekend plans were decided at the spare of the moment, whilst looking up for potential storm clouds and we found ourselves enjoying some lovely adventures.
Saturday began with our usual trip to the markets for coffee and a browse, but as we were looking for a park it started pouring. Fortuitously we were close to the cinemas and decided on a morning movie instead. A perfect way to get out of the rain.
Our film viewing was followed by coffee, churros, dreaming up ideas and making exciting plans.
The rain clouds cleared and we headed out to one of our favourite spots, Sandgate for an afternoon wander and fossick along the beach. We stopped by one of my favourite thrift shops on the way and found the perfect basket to carry our treasures in.
My sea glass collection for the day.. and a few pieces of old pottery too.
We finished the day at home in the veggie garden and were happy to find that most of seedlings were sprouting and enjoying the summer rain.
Sunday began with tea and a full to do list.
Ben and I realised we had never taken a trip to Ikea together.. So off we went (with what seemed like the rest of Brisbane), to wander the showroom, look for some new small space storage ideas and enjoy the a few '500 Days of Summer' moments.
After our epic Ikea outing, Grill'd seemed like the perfect spot to have lunch and write our grocery list. Loving their industrial lighting and artwork.
I was so delighted to find these tiny pumpkins whilst shopping for veggies. The perfect reminder that Autumn really is on it's way.
After an inspiring day out, Sunday afternoon was perfect for a spot of crafting, using a few of my newly found treasures.
This week I'm looking forward to sunny days, getting busy in the studio, working on a few new projects and enjoying the simple things.
I hope your weekend was wonderful too! What did you get up to?
